Biography
"I am like a volcano and color is my lava that carries everything away and makes its way."
Leyla Milou is a self-taught artist who is characterized by her freedom of thought and curiosity. Her openness to experiment with many materials and multiple tools creates a unique mix of media that combines continuity and change. The result is a moving symbiosis of classical realism and a spontaneous abstraction.
In 2020, at a time when the world was at a standstill due to the Pandemic, she found her unique visual language and liberation. Since then she has been obsessed with artistic expression, creating over 120 paintings and sculptures in 2 years. Her works are not only a tribute to femininity, but a celebration of vitality that defies stagnation.
At her first exhibitions, art experts rated her works unusually high right from the start and she succeeded in inspiring art collectors and gaining international attention. She sold several paintings within a short time at her first exhibitions.
Leyla was born in 1986 in Switzerland and works in her studio in the city of Bern where she is already working on the next 100 paintings.

"My hand is intuitively guided in painting by what is going on in my body and mind at that exact moment. Each painting therefore tells the story of an intimate moment between my imagination and the canvas. This personal insight revives with the imagination of the viewer and revives his own passion like a gentle touch.

My art is meant to enchant and remind how pleasurable life is. The intensity of the colors, the uncontrolled brushwork and the diversity of my work remind us of our own energetic moments in life - but also of what is missing. In the free world in which we exist, we should face our own desire and uniqueness self-confidently to savor life full of joy. This is what my work stands for.
